GA High Crash Corridors
GMTA worked with MCCD and GDOT's Connected Data Platform to determine areas that are chronically home to driver-error fatal crashes. The map below showing these areas is based on five years of crash reports as analyzed by GDOT. Please note the areas and the advice for each and share with CMV and automobile drivers alike.

Location 1: I-285 at I-75 (North side, all approaches)
Often Congested, be alert and prepared to stop
Location 2: I-285 SB to I-20 WB
Sharply curved intersection, multiple mergers, slow down
Location 3: I-20 EB at I-285 Merge
Often heavy merging traffic, right lanes use caution
Location 4: I-20 at Thornton Rd
Traffic often slows near Thornton Road, be prepared to stop
Location 5: I-75 near Jonesboro Rd
Limited visibility merger, prepare to stop
Location 6: I-675 SB to I-75 SB
Sharp curve, often heavy traffic, slow down
